The Utah Olympic Park It is situated in the northern part of Park City. Many of the events in the Winter Olympics especially sledging events and Nordic Jumping events were held here. It now functions as a training center for athletes heading for the Olympics.
There are many other facilities at the Olympic Park like 'summer aerial training splash pool, mountain coaster and ziplines as also the Games Exhibit and the Alf Engen Ski Museum.
You can take a guided tour or can explore the place on your own. The ski jumps at the highest altitudes and the fastest sliding track are an experience not to be missed. There are learning camps where you can learn about luge, skeleton, freestyle and ski jumping.
You can take up the Winter Bobsled Ride where you can experience speeds over 80mph and drops equal to 40 stories under 60 seconds. Starting at the bobsled start that was used during the Olympics, you can ride the track that is around a mile. The ride costs around $200 per head. Three people along with an experienced driver can take the ride. You will have to be over 16 years of age to take the ride. An identity proof will have to be shown along with parents' signature. It would be better to take a reservation for these rides. The Summer Bobsled Ride is also fun but not as fast as the Winter Bobsled Ride.
You can watch athletes skiing down the ski jumps, doing acrobatics in the air and landing in the pool. The facilities are good and you can look forward to a fun time at the park.
