There are several options if you decide to spend your vacation in Park City Mountain Resort in Utah. Originally a ski resort, this resort now caters to a summer crowd looking for adventure and fun in the great outdoors.
Park City Mountain Resort first opened its doors as a ski resort in 1963. It began under the name "Treasure Mountain." This changed in 1966 when it assumed the name of Park City Mountain Resort. Over the years, it began to develop a reputation as a quality ski and snowboarding facility. In 1999, the resort hosted the first Snowboard World Cup. It followed this up with the Olympic Games.
The Resort still hosts major skiing and snowboarding events. During the summer, however, it provides many opportunities for people to enjoy themselves. The slopes of the mountain become a playground with many activities. These range from the intense physical to the thrill-seeking. During the summer, you can opt to go hiking or biking in the mountains. There is also horse back riding and miniature golf. For those who are interested, there is also wall climbing. The fun starts when you decide to go for a ride on the Alpine Coaster. It is similar to the roller coasters you find in amusement or theme parks except for one thing — the scenery. Here, the mountains act as a backdrop for the wild ride. The mountains are also behind you when you ride the Alpine Slide. Other rides include the Zip Rider.
