Jordanelle State park near Wasatch Front, in Utah hosts an assortment of recreational activities which includes camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, water sports, swimming hiking and mountain biking and is one of the most popular Parks in Utah.
Within the Jordanelle State Park are two recreational sites.
The Hailstone Recreation Site is found between Park and Heber City on US 40 (exit 8). Day visitors will make use of the visitor center, children's play area, two boat ramps for public and private watercraft, Laundromats, beach house, marina store, restaurant, outdoor amphitheater, and more. The site has three separate camping areas; Kettly Point Campground, McHenry Creek Campground with picnic areas including pavilions with grills, and RV Campgrounds.
The Rock Cliff Recreation Site is found just west of Francis on SR-32. The campgrounds include a Nature Center, restrooms, social pavilions, hot showers and other features. This campsite offers a more serene setting, nestled in the trees. The site is accessible by way of a boardwalk or through Perimeter Trail a walking trail that also connects Hailstone and Rock Cliff recreational sites.
Perimeter Trail provides hikers, mountain bikers horse riders and cross country skiers a passageway to the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park.
Fishermen and women enjoy Jordanelle Reservoir for its excellent sport fishery providing a mixed species of Rainbow trout, Cutthroat trout, Small mouth bass and more recently the Brown trout from Provo River that is now migrating to the reservoir.
There are admission fees to the site and reservations for group-use and individual sites are available, also boat and Watercraft Rentals are available.
