Echo Dam and Reservoir near Park City, UT was built in the late 1920s as a way to help the western agriculture industry as well as a means for flood control. The actual construction of Echo Dam began in 1927 on the upper Weber River and by 1930, construction was complete and the reservoir was filling with water. Echo Dam and Reservoir is located in an area to the north of Coalville, Utah on a 1,450 acre surface and an elevation of 5,560. Many tourists come to Echo Dam and Reservoir for the many recreational opportunities it has to offer. Park City is a nearby tourist attraction that attracts many families and vacationers interested in nature. Both Echo Dam and Echo Reservoir are less than 30 miles from Park City.
