Spread over more than 3000 acres, the Deer Creek State Park in Utah has excellent recreational opportunities for the entire family. There is of course the Deer Creek Dam and Reservoir in addition to the fishing and boating options. Windsurfing, sailing and swimming are some of the water sports you could try. There are picnic and camping facilities. Built in the 1930s, the Deer Creek State Park is now maintained by The Division of Parks and Recreation. This park is on the Eastern side of the plains of Ohio. The predictability of the canyon winds along with the tepid waters of the reservoir makes the park a very popular spot. The park has some hundred odd guest rooms and the amenities include sauna, gymnasium, and indoor pools too. Horseback riding, ice skating, tennis, camping, hiking and hunting. You could hunt for pheasant, rabbit, squirrel and other permitted animals in the wildlife area which is next to the park. Hiking trails and bridle trails are many in number and they span for just the perfect length; even if you are not very fit, you could go on a shorter hike or ride. Mountain bikers are aplenty in this park. 18-hole golf with the sand traps and ponds should prove to be a nice course. Equestrian camp can accommodate people overnight as well. The Hardin Cabin has some history around it and can provide lodging for eight. Rent-a-camp units are in demand during the summer months. Thus, Deer Creek State Park with its convenient location near Park City is an ideal holiday destination for the entire family.
