Parks in Park City

Park City sits in one of the most scenic areas of Utah, in a picturesque section of the rugged Wasatch Mountains. Amidst the scenic beauty of this area, there are numerous parks that offer locals and visitors ample outdoor recreational opportunities. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, take some time to explore some of the beautiful parks in and around Park City.

Deer Creek State Park

Just outside of Park City near Midway, the Deer Creek State Park spans over 3,000 acres. The park is maintained by the state's Division of Parks and Recreation, and first opened in the 1930s. This park offers a range of modern comforts such as guest rooms, a sauna, a gym, and indoor pools. You can also find a range of outdoor recreational activities including horseback riding, wind surfing, ice skating, tennis, camping, hiking, and hunting. This park is open year-round.
 
 
Jordanelle State Park is located between Park City and Heber City, and offers both day and overnight facilities. Here, you will find a visitor center, a children's play area, hiking trails, two boat ramps and watercraft rentals, and three unique campground areas with restrooms and hot showers. For your comfort and convenient, the park also features a marina store, a beach house, a laundromat, and a restaurant. The Jordanelle Reservoir is a popular fishing spot for Rainbow trout, Cutthroat trout, small mouth bass, and other varieties. The park is open year-round and is maintained by the state's Division of Parks and Recreation.
 
 
Rockport State Park is nestled high in the mountains, covering 770 acres at 6,000 feet above sea level. The park features a dam and a reservoir, making it popular for ice fishing in winter months, as well as white water paddling, water skiing, sailing, hiking, biking, and swimming in the warmer months. The area is a popular site for both tent and RV campers, and features eight different campsites. Visitors to the park often view a variety of wildlife including deer, fox, jackrabbits, raccoons, coyotes, and more. This park is open year-round and is maintained by the state's Division of Parks and Recreation.
 
 
Also between Heber Valley and Park City, the Wasatch Mountain State Park welcomes visitors year-round. This is one of the most developed parks in the state, featuring AAA four-diamond resort properties, motels, bed and breakfasts, and other types of lodging on-site. Visitors can also camp at the campground, and partake in snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, fly fishing, golfing horseback riding, and more. Wildlife found here includes elk, deer, moose, wild turkey, and others. The park is maintained by the state's Division of Parks and Recreation.
