The Brighton Ski Resort high in the Rocky Mountains of Utah offers some of the country's best powder skiing. Although smaller and less-publicized than its cousins, Alta and Snowbird, the Brighton ski resort boasts the best views and the greatest snow of them all. Big Cottonwood Canyon, where the resort is situated, is very high up in the Rockies. As a result, Brighton gets particularly light, dry, fluffy snow. The resort has more than 1,000 skiable acres, with 66 groomed runs for beginner, intermediate (especially intermediate), and expert skiers. For snowboarders, there's a terrain park and halfpipe to practice tricks. Twenty-two of its 66 runs remain open at night, lit up by powerful lights, for a completely different kind of skiing experience.
